We are very pleased to announce that Collinge & Co has been recognised as one of the nation’s Top 50 SME Apprenticeship Employers, ranking 45th! 
The Department of Education, in partnership with High Fliers Research, compile and independently rank the top employers based on the number of apprenticeships started, the diversity of the new apprentices, and the completion rates of the apprenticeships.

Our Apprenticeships

For over 80 years, Collinge & Co has provided apprenticeship training for new stylists joining the company. Hairdressing Apprenticeships help to provide apprentices with the technical skills, knowledge and confidence they’ll need to flourish in a career in hairdressing. We pride ourselves on apprentices having successful and sustainable careers within our company; Almost all of our apprentices progress onto our Graduates Advanced Apprenticeship Programme and into full-time employment as stylists in our salons. The vast majority of our stylists joined us as school leavers on an apprenticeship programme, and continue their careers within our salons, progressing to other roles in management and education.

In addition to this fantastic news, Collinge & Co Training was also awarded an Outstanding grade from Ofsted following an inspection in June 2024, recognising our commitment to providing exceptional hairdressing apprenticeships. Today, Collinge & Co Training provides training to apprentices across the Liverpool City Region, Greater Manchester and Lancashire who are employed in over 100 local salons, as well as our own Collinge & Co Salons.

Progression and Employment

After completing their Level 2 Hair Professional Apprenticeship, apprentices have the option of progressing onto the Level 3 Advanced and Creative Apprenticeship, covering creative colour and cutting skills, and building a ‘look collection’. Collinge & Co apprentices have gone on to open their own salons, travel around the world and progress into roles such as Creative and Education Directors of international haircare brands. Many of our stylists began their careers as an apprentice at Collinge & Co, and continue to work in our salons.
