The 'City' Bride: Our Bridal Lookbooks
17.07.2024
Our City Bride is our take on the modern bride: She’s effortlessly cool and low-key, which is reflected in her bridal hair and outfit. This look combines classic bridal influences with our own twist, complimented by Holly's personal style. With soft curls pulled into a relaxed up-do and an angular oversized blazer, accessorised with chunky jewellery, this look is perfect for those looking for a less conventional bridal look.
Let's meet our City Bride, Holly!
Natural Curls
Holly has gorgeous, natural curls that we wanted to work with for her bridal style. We first applied Blow Dry Lotion to her towel-dried hair, before diffusing to help shape her natural curls and add volume. Once dry, we added Definer to give a longer-lasting, more defined curl.
Gel Definer is a perfect wedding-day hair product for protecting against humidity and heat, keeping your hair looking great throughout the day and night.
Un-done Up-do
We wanted this style to feel effortless and simple, as if she’d just thrown her hair up before leaving for the ceremony. To create this, we pinned the most of her hair up and away from her face, leaving a few sections to fall naturally around her face and neck. These creates a gorgeous, romantic look that contrasts so well with chunky jewellery and the structured lines of her blazer and jumpsuit.
'Messy' up-dos are very popular right now, and they can be adapted so well for different bridal aesthetics and hair textures.
Earlier this year, we put together some of our favourite trending styles that we thought would be perfect for bridal hair, including the 'Pam Anderson' messy bun. Read the article below to see where we drew some inspiration from!
Beautiful Blooms
To contrast with her hair colour, we opted for yellow-green toned orchids tucked throughout the hair. These create a gorgeous look that reminds us of a pre-Raphaelite painting with the soft curls, copper hair and pops of green.
Flowers are a great way to accessorise simpler styles, and are another way you can put a more unique twist on your bridal hair. Consider matching any flower pieces in your hair to your bouquet, or your wedding colours.
