Our technical services form the foundation of what we do.

Cut & Finish

A Cut & Finish appointment begins with a consultation where you'll discuss your desired style with your stylist. Your hair will be washed with products chosen specifically for your hair type, then cut to achieve your desired result, and finished with a blow dry.

Clippered, Cut & Dried

For those who prefer shorter styles or predominantly clipper work, we offer Clippered, Cut & Dried appointments. These are efficient appointments that include a shampoo and head massage, with the cut carried out primarily using clippers and scissors to refine the style.

Blow Dry

If you fancy a curly, smooth or bouncy blow-out, our Blow Dry service is the perfect option for fabulous hair. Whether you’re heading out for a night on the town or just feel like treating yourself to beautiful hair, we’ve got you covered. Our Blow Dry service includes a consultation, wash with appropriate products, and a styled finish. We can also add curling, wanding, or pin curls for a longer-lasting style. If you’d like your hair to be pin curled, please call to book so that we can allow extra time for your styling

Dressing Long Hair & Updos

For special occasions, our Dressing Long Hair & Updos service is perfect for weddings, proms, parties, or any event where you want to look your absolute best. If you’re looking for a curly bun, a sleek, chic twist or a stunning half-up half-down style, this is the service to book. We recommend booking a complimentary consultation beforehand so we can plan the perfect look and advise you on how to prepare your hair for the big day.

Colour Services

We offer a comprehensive range of colour services to suit every preference, style and vibe.

Colour Toning

Uses demi-permanent or semi-permanent colour to temporarily tone your hair. It's brilliant for adding colour, neutralising warmth, or enhancing your natural shade with depth and shine. You can choose from bright fashion colours, soft pastels, or natural-looking tones. Because it's temporary and fades over time, it's perfect if you want to experiment without long-term commitment.

Demi Colour

Demi colour sits between semi-permanent and permanent colour for a longer lasting result. It adds depth, warmth, and incredible shine whilst being less permanent than traditional colour. Like toning, it's available in a spectrum of shades from natural to vibrant.

Bleaching Roots

This is a maintenance service for those who already have lightened hair, where bleach is applied to the regrowth area and finished with a toner. We typically recommend maintenance every four to six weeks to keep your colour looking fresh.

Highlights

Highlights remain one of our most popular services. Whether you want a brighter look around the face or a subtle refresh with Hairline, Parting & Crown Highlights (also known as a third of foils or a t-section), or a more dramatic transformation with half or full head foils, we can create the perfect look.

Our stylists are skilled in various highlighting techniques including natural-looking dimension, babylights, teasylights, sun-kissed effects, and hair contouring. Depending on your natural hair tone and desired results, your stylist can advise you during your consultation on whether a toner will be required.

Balayage

Balayage offers a hand-painted alternative to traditional foils, creating a beautiful root stretch with lightened ends. It's lower maintenance than traditional highlights and creates a soft, natural-looking gradient of colour.

Foil & Tone

A Foil & Tone service involves a scattering of a few foil highlights, followed by a permanent or demi-colour applied to the rest of the hair.

Colour Correction

For more complex colour needs, we offer Colour Correction services. These are quoted individually following a complimentary consultation, as every correction is unique. We'll assess your hair's condition, colour history, and desired result before recommending the best approach. In some cases, we may need to focus on remedial hair care before attempting the correction to ensure your hair remains healthy throughout the process.

Treatments

Healthy hair is beautiful hair, which is why we offer a range of treatments to nourish, repair, and protect. Our treatments can be added on to any of our services, making them the perfect little treat to make a salon visit extra special. If you’re not sure which treatment is most suited to your hair’s wants and needs, just ask your stylist.

Collinge & Co Hair Treat

Our Collinge & Co Hair Treat is suitable for all hair types. This intensive moisturising mask contains argan, jojoba, and sunflower seed oils along with plant-based proteins to nourish, strengthen, and add shine to your hair. It includes a relaxing head massage, designed to relax and gently stimulate the scalp.

Wella System Professional Essential Treatment

A reconditioning treatment tailored by your stylist to target your hair's specific needs for an immediate, transformative effect. This treatment uses System Professional Emulsion and includes a relaxing head massage.

Wella System Professional Intense Treatment

This treatment combines two product benefits into one bespoke care experience. The Intense Treatment includes an Intense Massage, ensuring ingredients penetrate deeply whilst stimulating the scalp and melting away daily tensions. Uses System Professional Emulsion and Infusion Treatments.

Wella Ultimate Smooth Treatment

Perfect for achieving smooth, glossy, frizz-free hair with a glass-like finish. This treatment delivers transformative results on dull, damaged, and frizzy hair. The Ultimate Smooth Mask with Squalane & Omega 9 deeply nourishes hair from within, whilst the Miracle Oil Serum provides up to three days of smoothness.

Wella Ultimate Repair Treatment

A four-step treatment that helps reverse damage for compromised hair. Beginning with Ultimate Repair Shampoo, followed by Conditioner or Mask (depending on your hair type), this treatment includes a relaxing head massage. Miracle Hair Rescue is then sprayed through your hair, and Leave-in is applied to complete the process. Powered by Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) and Omega-9, this treatment strengthens, smooths, and rebuilds hair from the inside out, delivering transformative results after just one use.

Wellaplex

A strengthening treatment that works on your hair's internal structure, creating bonds to protect and repair hair that's been coloured or lightened.

Other Services

Beyond our core services, we offer a few specialist treatments. We provide perming services for those wanting permanent curl or wave. If this is something you're interested in, we recommend booking a consultation first so we can discuss the best approach for your hair.

Children and toddlers are welcome at our salons, and we offer Under-14s Cut & Finish and Toddler Cut appointments for younger clients.

We also provide hair extension services, though these follow a specific process. All extensions begin with a consultation to determine what you'd like and to provide professional advice. We only fit extensions purchased through our salon, ensuring you receive the highest quality hair with consistent results. Following your consultation, a deposit is required to order your extensions, with fitting typically scheduled one to two weeks later.

With five locations across the North West, there's a Collinge & Co salon convenient for you.

Our flagship Liverpool City Centre salon sits on Castle Street in the heart of the city. It's our largest salon and offers the full range of services with our experienced stylists.

Graduates Liverpool on Bold Street is where our newly qualified stylists work, offering excellent value whilst maintaining our high standards of service.

The Training Salon, also on Bold Street, is where our apprentices train under expert supervision, providing the most budget-friendly option for quality hairdressing.

Over on the Wirral, our Heswall salon on Telegraph Road serves the local community with a full range of services in a welcoming neighbourhood setting.

Finally, our Selfridges Trafford Centre salon brings Collinge & Co expertise to Manchester, located in the Selfridges Beauty Hall with extended shopping hours for your convenience.

Understanding our stylist levels

At Collinge & Co, we believe in celebrating skill and experience at every level. That's why we offer different stylist levels, each with their own pricing structure. This means you can choose the experience that suits your needs and hair goals.

Our stylist-levels range from Graduate Stylists, newly-qualified stylists completing their Level 3 Advanced & Creative Hair Professional programme, to Senior Style Directors, our most experienced styles with years of experience in their craft.

Our Graduate Stylists work exclusively in our Graduates Liverpool salon on Bold Street. They're newly qualified hairdressers who are continuing to develop their skills whilst on our Level 3 Advanced & Creative Hair Professional programme. If you're looking for quality hairdressing at more accessible prices, our graduates are a brilliant choice.

We also have our Training Salon, where apprentice hairdressers carry out services under the supervision of experienced tutors. This is a fantastic option if you’re looking for lower cost hairdressing and don’t mind a slightly longer appointment. By visiting our Training Salon, you’ll be helping the next generation of hairdressers build their skills and confidence.

Colour Allergy Testing

If you're new to colour at Collinge & Co, you'll need a consultation and colour allergy test at least 48 hours before your colour appointment.

This consultation is your chance to discuss exactly what you want to achieve. We'll talk through the process, advise on what's realistic for your hair, and provide you with a clear understanding of the commitment involved in maintaining your chosen colour. During this appointment, we'll also carry out a patch test to ensure you can safely have colour.

If you're an existing colour client but haven't visited us for six months, or if you want to change to a different shade, you'll need an up-to-date allergy test. It might seem like an extra step, but it's an essential part of ensuring your hair colour experience is safe.

Your colour consultation can be booked online, over the phone or in one of our salons.

Consultations

Colour isn’t the only service we offer consultations for; you can book also book a consultation for cut or hair styling services.

If you're considering a restyle or significant change, we offer complimentary Cut Consultations where you can discuss your ideas with a stylist before committing to an appointment. It's the perfect opportunity to bring along inspiration photos and get professional advice on what will work best for your hair type and lifestyle.

Our Dress Long Hair Consultations are the perfect option if you’re considering booking with us for your prom, wedding, race day or other event hair styling. During your consultation, you can discuss what you’d like, show your stylist any hair accessories you’ll be wearing on the day and your stylist can advise you on the best ways to prep your hair before your styling appointment.

Services for Long and Thick Hair

We understand that not all hair is created equal. If you've got particularly long or thick hair or you have extensions, our services can be extended to accommodate the extra time and product needed.

If you think your hair falls under one of these categories, please book the Long or Thick option for your preferred service to ensure enough time can be allocated for your appointment.

The same applies to our colour services. Longer regrowth or particularly thick hair may require additional time and product, which is reflected in extended service pricing. During your colour consultation, your stylist can advise you on which services they recommend you book, and our reception team can provide you with a price quote that reflects your recommended services.
