Summer Haircare Trends Blog by Andrew & Liz Collinge
Welcome to our blog post on the hottest summer hair trends of 2023! As the sun shines brighter and the temperature rises, it's time to take a look at the latest hairstyles and colours – We'll guide you through the must-try trends that will keep you stylish and cool all season long.
One of the hottest trends for hair this summer is the box bob. It is a simple geometric style that was made popular by Sassoon in the 60’s and is a timeless classic. To make sure the cut is bang on trend the lines should be sharp and straight, with a fringe or side parting. It is the simplicity that makes it such a confident and powerful look.
This cut lends itself to a sleek and glossy finish so both condition and colour are important. We would recommend a sulphate free shampoo (which is gentle on the hair cuticles), a moisturising conditioner and a weekly mask to really load up condition.
Our own Collinge & Co wash & care products are packed with luxury natural ingredients that are both kind to hair and which also boost hair shine and health – perfect additions to your summer haircare routine to protect and revitalise your hair.

Another great haircut for the summer is the long layered shag. It should have plenty of texture and choppiness and side fringes work well. We sprayed in invisible dry shampoo to encourage the style and texture, then tonged the hair to create soft wave, which we then raked through with our fingers so that the finish looks natural and not too contrived.
The colour trend is for warmer, chunky blondes that are tonally lighter but not too bright – in this look a caramel shade placed strategically will help emphasise the texture and give a natural sun lightened feel.
Updos are having a style Renaissance in terms of styling and finish. You can choose from sculptural braids or sleek, twisted chignons-it’s all about experimentation and trying something different. For these looks preparation is key, so you need great styling products and a proper professional hairbrush. in this look, we brushed the hair into a high ponytail and smoothed it using definer. We twisted and pinned the hair to form a shell like chignon.
